Tooth Coloured Filling

A dental filling is the process of restoring the appearance and functions of the original tooth through the use of a filling material. By selecting the most suitable material, and carefully handling the details of the filling process, we can restore the functions as well as the aesthetic appearance of the natural tooth.

Traditionally, amalgam (mercury alloy) is the material used for restoring teeth to help maintain a certain level of function. However, there is a controversy about its mercury toxicity, coupled with the fact that its metallic colour is not aesthetic, it is gradually being replaced by composite resin filling material (tooth coloured filling material).

Due to the chemical nature of composite resin, it bonds to the tooth well. In addition, the latest composite resins are developed with good strength and wear resistance for chewing function and durability.
